" I paint figures because it’s something I organically relate to.
Art classes quickly introduced me to live nude models, but it is the sheer nakedness, the willingness to bare all, that quickly drew me to painting the body as a practice of revealing the raw and vulnerable side of myself. "
I'm a figurative painter who was trained in traditional and contemporary painting techniques.
I like to dabble in printmaking and photography and tinker with tools and natural materials.
I work primarily in oils and often employ muted earthy colours over bolder underpaintings to echo my exploration of the human experience.
My conscious mind
draws inspiration from
philosophy, mythology and curiosity.
My subconscious mind
is inspired by the universe,
which inevitably awakens my inner child.
"Painting the human body has become a type of therapy: a carnal confession and spiritual cleansing of the psyche. The portraits I paint capture the hidden emotions beneath superficial appearances, reflecting my personal energetic state. The process serves as an alchemizing agent allowing me to transmute them vicariously".
